ATTENTION ALL MARCHING BAND MEMBERS

Thank you for all of your hard work through the years.  New members - welcome to the team!  We are looking forward to a great season full of outstanding performances, exciting football games & festivals, educational rehearsals and lots of fun.

Throughout the season, Our typical week includes rehearsal on Tuesday nights, and rehearsals and/or performances on Friday nights and Saturdays as well as 4-6 home & away football games with the Varsity Football team.  We will compete at the Bergen County Invitational at Bergenfield HS and perform at the North Jersey Band Festival at Clifton Stadium and are in the process of scheduling some other events throughout the season which could include more festivals/competitions and performances & attendance at professional and/or college sporting events.  Please check the schedule and plan vacations, appointments, tutors and other activities accordingly. GENERAL MARCHING BAND REHEARSAL THOUGHTS

• Proper attire for rehearsals: Sneakers with socks, comfortable clothes to march in, sunscreen.
• Make sure to eat before rehearsals and stay well-hydrated.  Proper hydration does not only include during rehearsal, but also before rehearsal and even the night before.  There will be breaks during rehearsal to hydrate, so bring liquids.  We also supply fresh ice water for you to refill your personal water bottles.
• Materials: Bring printouts of all your music/information and drill charts that have been handed out. Each member should have 3-ring binder containing all materials. There will be notebook checks this year.
• Music Preparation: Please make sure to work on the music you have been provided with.  You will need to memorize all of this music, so it is important that you get a head start on the music and work on it on your own.
• Attendance: In the event of need for any absence, please fill out an absence excuse form and hand it in early. **Remember, absence notes must be received at least 2 days in advance in order to be excused.  You can email a scanned/signed copy to Mr. Verderese or place in his mailbox at school. Also, please make sure so be on time for all rehearsals as attendance is a part of your grade.
