BERGEN COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR INFORMATION

The Bergen County High School Choir auditions are fast approaching! Sponsored by the Music Educators of Bergen County, Inc. (MEBCI), this audition-only group (an SATB mixed choir) is a wonderful opportunity for strong 9th through 12th grade singers who are interested in a more rigorous and challenging choir experience, while performing with other talented students from over 30 sponsoring schools in Bergen County. The inexperienced or struggling singer may find the choir audition difficult to master.

Please be sure to take into consideration the time commitment when deciding whether or not a student should audition - two evening rehearsals from 4:00pm-9:00pm, one Saturday rehearsal from 12:30pm to 4:00pm, and a Sunday performance beginning at 3:00pm (as listed in the Choir Student Instructions). Inclement weather rehearsal and performance dates are also included in the schedule, and must be kept clear, as well. Due to the limited, rigorous rehearsal schedule, NO ABSENCES for any reason are allowed.

PLEASE NOTE: Student audition forms and audition fees ($10.00 checks made payable to CRESSKILL HIGH SCHOOL VOCAL MUSIC) are due for submission no later than Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 3:00pm . (This is earlier than the deadline listed by the sponsoring organization because sponsoring teachers need to process paperwork, request school checks, and mail all information certified mail. No late applications will be accepted.)

Auditions will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 (audition registration time TBD) at Mahwah High School. With sometimes up to 500 students auditioning, students could be involved in the audition process anywhere between 15 minutes to 3 hours.
